Triennial Conference 2011

The Triennial Conference was held 25-28 July, 2011 at the University of Cambridge.

The University of Cambridge hosted a successful Triennial attended by 430 delegates.  The conference showcased six plenary lectures and ten parallel series of five seminars, featuring a main speaker and two respondents and broadly corresponding to the sub-disciplines of Greek Literature, Latin literature, Greek History, Roman history, Late Antiquity, Classical Art History, Greek and Roman archaeology, Ancient Philosophy, Reception of Classical Culture, and Classical Linguistics. There were also two outreach events: debates on the ‘Death of Socrates’ (chaired by Dr Angela Hobbs), and on the ‘Conservation of Pompeii’ (chaired by Professor Mary Beard).
